Funeral home: No one wants to bury bomb suspect

(USA TODAY) -- A funeral home director is scrambling to find a cemetery that will bury a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, ignoring protesters gathered outside his business and saying everybody deserves a dignified burial service no matter the circumstances of his or her death.

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev died from bullet wounds to his torso and extremities and blunt trauma to his head and body, Peter Stefan, owner of Graham, Putnam, and Mahoney Funeral Parlor, said Friday as he read details of the death certificate.

Tsarnaev, 26, was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. ET on April 19, four days after the twin bombings that killed four and wounded 264 others. He was shot during a gun battle with police in the Boston suburb of Watertown, then run over and dragged by his 19-year-old brother, Dzhokhar, as he fled in a stolen car.

Spider Called Pivotal in Slayer Guitarist Death

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman thought he was on the mend after a spider bite followed by an infection. He'd been writing songs with the band in anticipation of recording a new album later this year.

But in an unusual chain of events, a representative for the band said the bite may have contributed to Hanneman's death more than two years later.

Hanneman died Thursday morning of liver failure at a Los Angeles hospital with his wife, Kathy, by his side, according to Slayer spokeswoman Heidi Robinson-Fitzgerald. He was 49.

Family members and doctors were not immediately available to discuss the cause of death.

Let's Be Real: Did Governor McDonnell Break the Law?

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Yesterday it reported that the FBI is investigating Virginia governor Bob McDonnell. And, the fact that the CEO of a Virginia corporation known as Star Scientific chipped in 15 thousand dollars toward the governor's daughter's wedding. The governor says Johnny Williams was just being a good friend.

Those corny, "I'm just a regular guy" campaign ads from Bob McDonnell, so forgive me if  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around his  explanation, that Johnny Williams is just a good family friend, who just wanted  to kick in 15 K to help foot the bill  for a daughter's wedding.

Nothing to do with McDonnell being governor of course.  Now the governor insists he broke no laws since the "gift" was for his daughter and not him.  But if we use the smell test...frankly.

Publisher, photographer probed over topless Kate photos

Publisher, photographer probed over topless Kate photos

PARIS (AP) - French prosecutors have placed the publisher and photographer of unauthorized topless snaps of Prince William's wife, Kate, under formal criminal investigation, they said Thursday.

Caroline Chassain, spokeswoman for the Nanterre prosecutor, said that Mondadori Magazines France and local photographer Valerie Suau were placed under investigation earlier this month over possible criminal exploitation of the images, which appeared in the French Closer magazine last September.

The photos showed the duchess of Cambridge relaxing at a private villa in Provence, in southern France, sometimes without her bikini top and, in one case, her suit bottom partially pulled down to apply sunscreen.

Chassain added that Suau's employer, local newspaper La Provence, was also placed under formal criminal investigation on Monday, but she did not elaborate.

The investigation will likely take months to complete.

Let's Be Real: What's Wrong With Tattoos?

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Don't get me wrong, like the Obama's, I too am of the no-tattoo generation; that group of middle aged baby boomers who live with the absolute certainty that every young person currently rocking the seriously cool ink is doomed to become an older person with no job and many regrets. Mostly regarding the ink.

But for every baller who goes tattoo crazy, there's probably 10-thousand 20-somethings who just want a little eye of the tiger or whatever that is.

And now I gotta wonder.

Is there really anything wrong with that? Look at the numbers.

The pew center says 45 million Americans have tattoos, 40 percent of adults aged 26 to 40 with at least one. A third say the tattoo makes the feel more sexy, another 3rd say rebellious.
