DC Water Work to Impact Traffic on Connecticut Avenue
Transportation

The DC Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) has informed the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) that nighttime utility work has been scheduled beginning Thursday, September 23, 2010, and will require temporary lane closures on Connecticut Avenue between Calvert Street and Woodley Road.  The closures will be limited to off-peak hours, but traffic delays are still possible and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.

DC Water says it will be installing a 24” storm drain pipe on Connecticut Avenue for the next 30 days, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.  The pipe installation is part of DC Water’s ongoing program to upgrade its infrastructure and improve service to customers.

During the construction, traffic on Connecticut Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Calvert Street and Woodley Road, and there will be no on-street parking available from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. in those blocks.
