Boffi Georgetown holds evening event with Praline Bakery & Bistro during Days of Design

Julia Walter, showroom manager of Boffi Georgetown along with project manager/architect Robert Matic and senior project designer Alberto De Marco, opened the Boffi showroom on Thursday evening, October 18, to architects, designers, friends and the general public during last week's Days of Design event in Cady's Alley.

Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Piero Lissoni, the two-story Boffi showroom in the heart of Georgetown showcases historic elements such as brick walls, soaring ceilings, and large windows and skylights that complement Boffi's sleek Italian kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe systems. While the Boffi look might lean more modern, Walter says because the lines of the kitchen and bathroom products are so minimal and streamlined that they fit into any type of home, whether traditional, transitional or contemporary. The Boffi team works closely with clients to ensure that the Boffi designs harmonize with a home's aesthetic. Currently, many showroom displays are on sale.

Praline Bakery & Bistro co-owner Susan Limb along with pastry chef Tracy Kao provided delicious savory and sweet bites along with a cookie decorating demonstration during the evening's festivities. Praline offered three different savory appetizers including gougeres and duck confit atop a delicate French crust. The sweets included pear-topped pastries, chocolate mousse cups, and their signature Parisian macarons.

Praline, located off Sangamore Road near the DC line in Bethesda, offers French-American bakery and bistro menus featuring daily specials for lunch and dinner, as well as Meals to Go. They have a large assortment of French pastries in the morning, specialty and seasonal cakes all the time, as well as a Sunday brunch. Co-owned by Patrick Musel, the head pastry chef, Praline was founded six years ago by the two former White House chefs. Praline participates in four local farmer's markets during warmer months and one year-round.
