DC AG Files Lawsuits Against 2 Organizations

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The DC Attorney General filed two civil law suits against "Peaceoholics, Inc." and "WEALTHY" for misusing federal grants.

A lawsuit reveals that Peaceoholics submitted a false grant application and used the money for two luxury SUVs for CEO Jauhar Abraham, officials said in a news release.

The lawsuit also claims that Peaceoholics falsely reported the amount they paid Jauhar and former COO Ronald Moten.

A lawsuit reveals that WEALTHY, (Washington East of the River Academy of Entrepreneurship, Arts, Life Skills, Technology and Health for "Youth on the Rise"), also falsely reported how funds were spent, officials said.

The case against WEALTHY asks to get $120,000 in District grant funds that were unlawfully paid to Executive Director Dianna Robinson, its accountant Darrell Johnson, and Johnson's firm, officials said.

The first court proceedings in these matters have been scheduled for September 20.
