Washington's Most Unusual Rush Hour Wedding On the Corner of 14th and U NW

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A busy rush hour street corner became a wedding chapel Wednesday on U St. NW.

Taniah Smith and Luron Flynn were married at the spot where they met exactly four years ago, surprising passersby on a hot Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Frank D. Reeves Municipal Center.

"I think its beautiful what they are doing!" said one enthusiastic stranger who was among a handful to stop and watch near a busy bus stop.

"I just invited myself," giggled another rush hour pedestrian.

The couple met on the night of April 10th, 2009 when Luron, then a Georgetown student, was captivated by a woman he saw leaving a nearby nightspot.

"It was her smile," he laughed. "I knew I had to meet her."

Taniah, a bank HR executive, said she was taken aback by the young man, who walked, then ran, then loaded in a car with friends to make her acquaintance.

FBI probes Ashley Judd tape at McConnell's request

WASHINGTON (USA TODAY) -- The FBI said Tuesday it is investigating whether Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's Louisville campaign office was bugged after aides were caught on tape discussing possible political attacks on Ashley Judd.

The tape was posted by Mother Jones, a liberal magazine that created a stir last year when it published a secretly taped video of Mitt Romney.

"We can confirm that Sen. McConnell's office reported this matter to us and we are looking into it," said Paul Bresson, an FBI spokesman. "We are reviewing the tape to determine if any federal laws were violated."

On the recording, McConnell's aides discuss Judd and her struggles with depression and views on several topics, including religion. The actress-activist, who flirted with a Senate bid in Kentucky, said in late March that she would not run for the Democratic nomination in 2014 to take on McConnell.
