Volleyball Clinic for Dream For Kids in Washington, D.C. This Weekend

This story comes to us from Rachelle Brehm:

(Washington, D.C. May 9, 2011) Albert "AL-B" Hannemann, 18 year volleyball veteran and Professional Beach Champion has created The National Volleyball League (NVL), a domestic professional beach volleyball tournament series which will take place at 6 events across the United States this year.  The first stop on this journey will be in the nation's capital with charity events, volleyball clinics and an inaugural soiree to kick off its opening season.

The National Volleyball league will be partnering with Dream For Kids to put on The Extreme Recess clinic, an adaptive volleyball clinic for over 50 children with disabilities.  The event will take place on May 14, 2011 from 10:00am-2:00pm at the National Mall located on 7th St Nw  (the courts are off of Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway) in Washington, D.C.The event will consist of specialized instruction and scrimmages for all participants. Children will be paired with trained volunteers and instructors who will guide them through a series of drills and exercises.  This clinic is completely free for participants and organized by volunteers.

In addition to this wonderful event, The National Volleyball League will also be hosting youth and adult clinics from 2:30pm-5:00pm.  Adults and kids can sign up to be coached by the pros. Cost for this event is $100/person. Clubs that bring 10 people or more will get a discount ($75/person).  Individuals that volunteer in the earlier session will get an even larger discount ($50/person).  In order to enroll for the clinic, you must sign up on the website, http://ervolleyball.eventbrite.com.  To top the evening off, the NVL Inaugural Soiree will be at Midtown Loft www.midtown-dc.com.  The event will go from 8pm-11pm with an open bar and meet the pros from 8pm-9pm and then hang out with the pros from 9pm-11pm.  A portion of the proceeds from the evening will go to Dreams for Kids.

With their Dreams For Kids charity event, the youth and adult volleyball clinics and the NVL Inaugural Soiree all taking place in Washington, DC, it is no wonder that the NVL is already paving its way to becoming the premiere professional beach volleyball league.
